Only one minute walk from Naka-wazuka bus stop. Thank you.
I had a weekday lunch without reservation. There were only 4 pairs of customers. One of the shops was fluent in English.
Three friends and I booked a tour of the tea fields in early January 2020. The tour was a wonderful experience and everyone was very friendly. We then got to taste a number of different types of green tea and matcha. After the tour, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at the cafe.
Excellent and healthy food but a bit limited in choices. Book them for the tea farm and factory tour for a complete Japan tea experience.
If you're looking for a tea experience in Japan, look no further than this place. While the 10,000 yen tour may be slightly on the expensive side to some, it was well worth the price to me to know about general tea making and the origins of the area. Shoutout to Daiki for his presentation of the tour in perfect English. A unique experience in the Kansai area away from all the tourists and is English friendly to boot, then you should definitely try out this place.
If you like matcha, sencha, houjicha and Japanese tea culture in general then Wazuka is not to be missed. Even though this town has only 4000 residents, it produces 40% of the famous Uji tea varieties. You can explore the tea farms, participate in tea tasting sessions, and enjoy tea-related food like matcha latte, matcha cookie, matcha chocolate, etc. You can also do an Airbnb Experiences tour with the owner of d:matcha, who’s very friendly and knowledgeable.
We did the tea picking tour with Daiki and had such a great time. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan so far. Beautiful food and tea, and super friendly and hospitable staff.
One of my favourite spots in Wazuka. They produce amazing tea based cookies, cakes, pastries and ice creams. Service is excellent, staff are friendly and decoration is delicate. Best views of the tea mountains in the back side.
Great experience, lovely staff and delicious tea and food. We also took the tea picking tour and it was fun and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Lovely little matcha cafe in an area surrounded by Japanese tea plantations. Loved the food here as well. The shop attendant here was so nice to explain to us a little about Japanese tea and how best to enjoy it. Recommend trying their matcha ice cream too for dessert ! Sure does hit the spot :)
Very friendly staff, great service and products. Tea was delicious and the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous. Will recommend
Amazing green tea experience with Daiki and his wife. The food is refreshing.
This is a great cafe with tasty lunch options and an excellent introduction to Japanese green tea varieties. The staff speak good English and are very friendly. Coming here was a highlight of my trip and a great escape for the crowds of tourists in nearby cities.
